Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
Education in Gambia isn't free to all. Girls are often denied access to formal education, any money families have is used to support the education of sons.......
A different culture to the one I live in, although it probably isn't that long ago that the UK had a similar culture.
The College I work in wanted to support a group of students to undertake volunteering work overseas, they needed a staff member to support them raise funds and get organised.......... Those that know me won't be surprised to learn that I said I could help... somehow I've been roped into to going as well.
As well as looking after the College's students I will be volunteering in a school, helping with renovation work, delivering some after school activities.
If you can help by selling a football card, raffling a bottle of wine in your work place, making a small donation through this website then I woill be eternally grateful.
I'm more than happy to attend groups and give a short talk on what I'm expecting to do in Gambia and follow up afterwards about what it was like and how I added value in return for a donation.

Those that know me are unlikely to be surprised I've been roped into this. Traveled lots but this is really a new experience for me, rural, remote, few comforts, different culture. Excited, proud to be involved, expect to be challenged and hope to be of value to the community.
