I've raised £35000 to We suddenly have to move to a wheelchair accessible home with room for a carer.
Organised by Martin Sutton
Sacha 78 & Martin 73, together for 52 years, have suddenly been struck by life changing illness which will require a wheelchair accessible home and room for a carer. We currently live in a one bedroom flat on the 3rd floor, without a lift. Sacha is an insulin dependant diabetic, who has developed a diabetic foot in April, the future is bleak. He also had a stroke in May, whilst Martin was in Barts having heart surgery - further surgery is required to change a valve. Our flat is on the market, but with our savings, we will still be £35,000 short and because of our age, cannot get a mortgage. The council is sympathetic, but cannot help us. I am at my wit's end.
