    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

I know many of you will have heard a story like this before. My Brother employed a builder to make alterations and fit a new kitchen. Foolishly my brother handed over cash. The work started but was never finished. Despite our best efforts this rogue builder has done a runner with the cash. This event was the last straw for my brother who has had a run of really bad luck. The money he used to pay for the work was a loan so now he has still got to pay it back without getting what he paid for. I am doing what I can to help but without the funds I fear the kitchen will never be complete. Please help if you can.

Since I first wrote this we have discovered that the Builder (Gerry) had done similar (starting work and taking cash) then disappearing without completing the work. I have now after taking advice reported him to trading standards and the federation of master builders. It is sad that so many people have suffered at his hands.

    Thank You
