I've raised £500 to commemorate our friend Martin Wright by raising money for the bird reserve at St Aidan's where he worked

Our friend Martin Wright was a kind, funny, modest and talented person with a beautiful smile, who died unexpectedly last November shortly after being diagnosed with cancer. Earlier in life Martin was the guitarist in legendary Manchester bands Intastella and Laugh, but in recent years Martin had made a rewarding career working at the beautiful RSPB bird reserve St Aidan's near Leeds. Martin didn't want the big expense of a funeral, but hoped instead to raise money to help preserve the beloved bird sanctuary.
Formerly an opencast mine, St Aidan's has been restored to create a wonderful nature park with peaceful walks where you can appreciate nature and the wealth of birds that call it home, including bitterns, avocets, black terns, skylarks and meadow pipits.
