I've raised £500 to help fund elective placement in Zambia

Hi, my name is Martina and I am a second year adult nursing student at Anglia Ruskin University.
As a part of my studies, I have an amazing opportunity to spend my elective placement working abroad. In July I will be flying to Zambia to spend 2 weeks working at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka which cares predominantly for low or no income patients. Lack of staff, underfunding and the impact of the HIV epidemic in the 90s presents healthcare workers in Zambia with some unique challenges. Not only I will be sharing my skills but also gaining valuable experiences through working within a healthcare setting in the developing world and confront the challenges of low resource medicine.
This placement will enable me to experience nursing from a different angle. I believe that encountering the range of diseases I would not necessarily come across in the UK, the different culture and different attitudes towards healthcare will help me not only grow as a person but also as a professional when I qualify next year.
This elective placement is completely self-funded and that is where I need your help. After adding the cost of the actual placement, flights, vaccination, insurance and visa, I am looking at nearly £3000! I would really appreciate any donation - no matter how big or small!
Thank you in advance for your support, it will be gratefully received.
