We ask that you please find it in your hearts to help donate as little or as much as you can to help towards the costs for this family to be able to bury Martyn, giving him the respect and dignity needed in such tragic circumstances.

Martyn leaves behind his fiancé and 7 children, who he worked hard to provide for and loved dearly. His commitment to providing financially was inspirational. However their tragic loss not only came as a complete shock for his family, but means that his Fiancé is rendered helpless, not knowing how to bury the man she loves, and the father to her devastated children.

Martyn unfortunately did not realise how proud everyone was of him; coming through some of the most difficult times of his life and still holding enough love in his heart for all his family. Equally, we are guilty of not realising how little he valued himself and his place in this world. If we knew then what we did now, we would make him know just how much he is loved and adored and that taking his own life was not the answer.

I have held his fiancé, my dearest friend, whilst she sobs. I have wiped away tears that I cannot imagine how painful are to shed. I have watched her cradle her children and reassure them that everything will be OK. I have stood beside her whilst we identified his body and now I want to help her find some peace for Martyn.

The police tried their hardest to find him when mental health services let him down and we extend our thanks to them for trying hard to find Martyn in his hour of need.

We thank you for whatever help you can give to help my friend come to terms with the fact that her fiancé was fighting a silent battle she could not even comprehend and give her and her family the chance to say goodbye far too early to a beloved fiancé, father, brother and son.
