*Update*

I am absolutely overwhelmed at the support from all the friends and industry colleagues of myself and Paul, together we have raised over 90% of the initial £5000 target in under 24 hours, lets keep it going and raise whatever we can for Paul and family, this is going, show our support through long road of treatment.

As most of you know Paul has been struck down by Cancer, he is in and out of hospital and clearly suffering significantly at the moment.

I have exchanged a few messages with him and been updated by John Peckham over the past few weeks

Paul is such a decent bloke, he is not only known for his wealth and breadth of knowledge on all things electrical engineering but also for his voluntary work, being an active member of many groups and giving his time freely without a second thought, his contributions to Webinars and visiting colleges are just more examples of Paul's dedication and passion for the industry and helping others. When I heard his news I was devastated for him, he has always been at the end of an email with chapter and verse on any queries I have had, There are very few Paul's in this world.

Like most people, I have no idea what to say in these situations, there are no words, just profound sadness at the suffering of a friend and colleague.

Clearly the current situation has affected us all in many ways, to be battling Cancer and managing the daily chores and finances is a burden I hope we can ease a little for him. Paul has helped me so much over the years, I cannot thank him enough for all he does for the industry.
