Why I am Raising £5,000 with Ehisianya Love Foundation (ELF)
This campaign is deeply personal to me. I know the power of opportunity because I once received a scholarship to study for my master’s degree in the UK. That single chance opened doors to a better life, and it’s an opportunity I will always be grateful for.
Sadly, many bright young students in Nigeria may never have that chance, not because they lack ability, but because they cannot afford their WAEC (West African Examinations Council) fees. Without WAEC, students cannot progress to university, polytechnic, or vocational training. Their dreams are cut short before they can even begin.
At Ehisianya Love Foundation (ELF), we believe poverty should never decide a child’s future. That is why we are raising £5,000 to cover the WAEC fees for students in government schools and small private schools across Nigeria.
⏳ The deadline for WAEC registration is November, so we must act quickly.
The cost of one WAEC registration is around ₦65,000 - N85,000 (late registration). While it would be cheaper to register directly with WAEC, this is not allowed as students must go through their schools, which add administrative costs. Sadly, with today’s high cost of living, many families simply cannot afford it.
✨ It takes just £35 to sponsor one student.
To you, it may seem small. To them, it is a turning point that can change the entire course of their life.
With your help, we hope to support over 100 students this year. Students will be chosen on a first come, first served basis, and every pound raised will go directly to paying exam fees and where needed, school fees as well.
💜 And this is not just about paying fees.
- It is about giving Amina the chance to become a pilot.
- It is about giving Chinedu the chance to become an engineer.
- It is about giving Shola the chance to become a teacher.
Together, we can ensure that financial hardship does not block the path to education, opportunity, and hope.
🙏 Please give today. Whatever amount you donate will be matched to a student, and you will receive updates on their progress even after the exams.
Your generosity will not just pay an exam fee. It will change a life forever.
