Story

In a little under a month, I’m going to be running the Barcelona marathon in support of Lagan Lappers.

In 2023, my littlest sister, Eilis, moved with my parents to Belfast. She’s been a competitive swimmer for years, dedicatedly training every week and beating out other (much taller) swimmers.

In Belfast, she’s started swimming with a special needs club called Lagan Lappers, which offers training to young people from around the area with intellectual or learning difficulties, such as Down’s syndrome (like Eilis).

The Lagan Lappers Special Olympics Sports Club is volunteer-let and community based, and helps fill a vital gap for many - providing not just training, but also a social space.

They now have the opportunity to compete against clubs from around Ireland, but funds are limited.

As such, I’m hoping to raise some money so they can have the opportunity to take on new challenges and prove their metal against other swimming clubs.

Any donation would be very appreciated,

Molly xx
