Story
Totally inspired by the letters and poetry of Mary Queen of Scots, we created a concert, premiered at Glasgow's West End Festival, then Oxford Lieder Festival.
We need your help to take our show to this year's Edinburgh Fringe, for seven performances at St. Mark's Unitarian Church, 7 Castle Terrace. (artspace@StMarks in brochure)
So many people have told us they don't know Mary's story, others believe the many myths surrounding her fascinating life. You can help us bring Mary's inspirational dignity and courage to public attention through excellent research and passionate performance. Her story is every bit as relevant in today's political climate as during the Tudor Stuart reign.
Three top British composers, Dee Isaacs, Eddie McGuire and Judith Bingham, (who wrote the anthem for the reinterment of Richard 3rd in Leicester Cathedral recently), have written wonderful new works for voice and piano expressing Mary's passion, drama and tenderness.
To achieve our goal, we will need to cover minimum costs. Any funds raised above our target will go towards making a professional recording. No amount is too small... or too large. Every pound counts and will be wisely spent.
Production costs - £2770
Travel and subsistence - £480
Publicity (flyers, posters, programmes) - £700
Venue Hire - £1050
