As most of you willknow I lost my delicious, wonderful dog Charlie in October 2014. Half looking for another dog, I spotted Asha on Facebook. She was in Cyprus, kept on a chain, surplus to requirements and with the possibility of being shot. We adopted Asha, and this has led to a love affair with Cyprus dogs and my joining in the fight to save as many as possible.
Stray Cypriot dogs have a terrible life. Litters of puppies are dumped in the boiling hot sun to die, dogs abandoned on the street, poisioned and left to die. Beautiful souls neglected and with no hope of love or a proper decent life. Some of you may remember that a year ago I went to visit the sanctuary and bring some dogs to their furever homes in the UK.
There is a wonderful team in Cyprus and the UK that dedicate their lives to saving these precious animals. And they are precious. The rescued dogs have the most incredible loving natures, almost like they are grateful to have been rescued.
