We are fundraising for a very special young woman - we can't print her name, or her picture, as she is still on the battlefield, fighting for her life, against some very dark forces on this planet.

We will call her Mary. Mary is brave, funny, beautiful, strong, bright, kind, immensely loving and full of energy and passion for life. But at 10 yrs old she was raped. Incidents led to incidents and a group of very well organised and well trained men groomed her into sex slavery for them. They fed her with a brilliantly balanced diet of drugs, violence, abuse, praise, more drugs, more violence and a constant drip, drip, drip of denigration, removing her self worth and self esteem with the accuracy and precision of a surgical procedure.

Now she is 24. She wants out, but she's an addict. They visit her regularly, leaving "gifts" of her favourite drugs on the doorstep - for her, for free... till they want to collect... And then she owes them, big time. But she "wants" the drugs, and now she needs the drugs. She needs them to take away the memories and to get some sleep without the nightmares. She needs the drugs to forget what she has done, what she has seen and what she believes she is. So she takes the drugs... and then she owes them... And they collect - in violence and rape... And then she needs more drugs....

Every time she says no more, they tell her she'll never get away - she isn't strong enough... She can't "cope", so she might as well just have the drugs, and they remind her she isn't worth anything anyway.

But they have made the mistake of under-estimating the power inside this young woman. They believe they have her, but they do not. For Mary has a secret weapon. LOVE. How much she LOVES and how much she is LOVED... that and the sisterhood. We are standing with her and for her and for every single Mary across the planet.

Mary is going to try again to beat this, to beat them. The last time they delivered the "free" drugs to her, she flushed them in a Freedom Ritual to claim her life and her freedom. She has had her first week without drugs and she is keeping herself safe away from danger. Her body is battered and broken, she has touched rock bottom, seen horrors you'd never want to hear uttered or believe possible. She has taken the first steps towards a glimmer of hope, how brave she is. She is following the small quiet voice within that dares to believe she deserves something better and that she can have a life to be proud of, outside of this trap. Mary dreams of helping others, I believe she will tremendously, but first we need to help her.

We have started to send Mary some of the nutritional and healing support she is going to need over the coming months and years because we passionately and wholeheartedly believe in her. We are raising funds for ongoing nutritional support, regular bodywork and therapy over the coming year.
