Story

Thanks for visiting my page.

My fiancé (Barry) and I have signed up to run a half marathon at Long Beach, California on Sunday 7th October.

We are completing this challenge to help raise money for Eileen de la Torre (aged 34) mum of four young children who is battling type 4 cancer and needs help with childcare medical and living costs whilst she bravely fights this disease.

Our goal is to raise £1,000 to £2,000 here in the UK with an overall total goal from our other friends and collegues around the world being £35,000.

We have set up this JustGiving page to raise money alongside the US fundraising effort so it is easier for our friends and family in the UK to donate. Once money is raised, we will transfer the funds to the main US charity. The benefit being donations are in UK pounds rather than US dollars.

Please donate as much or as little as you can afford, any donation is most welcome.

We will keep you updated with the progress of our training, our fund raising results and of course the run on the 7th October.

Thanks in advance for reading about our event and for your kind donation,

Maryam

Dear Friends & Family,

We as Eileen’s family have created this Go Fund me page to support her during this difficult time. Eileen was recently diagnosed with stage IV cancer. She is waiting to see a cancer specialist at the City of Hope Hospital which is scheduled for July 25th. Until she is able to see the specialist and learn more about what treatment options are available she is unable to work. As some of you know Eileen has 4 children whom she provides for, she will need to pay someone to care for them as we anticipate she will have many doctor visits in the near future. To better her health she has switched to an all natural organic diet with the help of her mom who visits our local farmers market and cooks her meals every week. Eating organic and purchasing all natural holistic remedies has become a financial stress on her entire family. With all of this being said please consider helping us raise funds to assist Eileen and her family with all the unplanned expenses. No gift is too small; please join us to get her the care she needs. Most of all please continue to pray for a full recovery for Eileen.

Thank you,

The Delatorre/Perez family
