Hello everyone

It's me Mrs Claus. Up here at the North Pole we hear the hopes held in hearts all over the world. We can also sometimes hear prayers as they fly through the atmosphere towards the ears for which they were intended.

Mr Claus and I have become aware that some of the kindest souls in the North of Scotland are in need of a place to gather, to support one another and to share the magic of human kindness.

Carers, parents, social workers, teachers, family members and friends of children with additional support needs are hoping and praying for help.

I am not a clever woman but I am a very lucky one, I have faith. I have faith in peoples kindness. So let me try in my not so clever way to explain who these children are.

These children, like all children are individuals with many traits and characteristics. However their needs are different from the majority of youngsters.

Some have a condition called autism this can affect their ability to stay in mainstream school. At home they can often display behaviour that can be frustrating and distressing for their carers to cope with.

Some children have physical and mental disabilities that mean they require full time support or care.

Some children and young people are suffering mental health problems. This can make attending school and socialising an enormous struggle. I'm not going to shy away from this... sometimes these children choose to end their lives. I hear their hearts breaking and then I hear the sounds that come from the hearts of their parents and those that loved them. I really cannot bear those sounds.

However if those souls can bear their pain then I can bear to hear them. So this is why I need your help.

My heart knows we need somewhere. Somewhere welcoming and safe, where you can find a warm heart, hot tea, a friend you can trust to watch your bairns while you recharge your batteries. where people can go for help.

Actually we need a wee house like your Grannies
