Assalamulaikum
Masjid – E – Bilal, located on Parker Road, Thornhill Lees, Dewsbury, West Yorkshire
has been under construction for the past few years and it is in final stages of completion.
Masjid – E – Bilal, has been established for many years which serves the local
community through its services. The masjid and madressa has been operating through
a porta cabin since the 1990’s and was the first Masjid in Thornhill Lees, Dewsbury.
Alhamdulillah, the masjid has been spiritual and social heart of Muslim community in
Thornhill Lees.
It started as a masjid offering five daily prayers and then with the help of the
community a madressa was opened within the porta cabin. A few years ago, the Masjid
started Jumma namaaz.
As the community has grown, the services of the masjid have grown and the porta cabin
was no longer a viable option. This is the reason the construction of the masjid began.
This is not only a local masjid but a local welfare centre which will cater for burials,
gatherings and Islamic events etc.
As Ramadan is approaching, I would like to raise £10,000.00 Lillah before Ramadan to
help ease the financial burden for the masjid.
Various Hadith cite the Prophet (PBUH) saying: “Whoever builds a masjid for the sake of
Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” By donating, not only will you be
providing a place of worship but laying foundations for your own spiritual rewards in
this life and the next
