Innaa Lilaahi wa inna ilayhi rajioon
To him we belong and to him we return
Asalaamu Alaykum
As many of you are aware, this pandemic has created many losses and on the 25th April 2021 our beloved grandfather Mohamoud Hassan Guiled passed away after a 3 week battle with covid. May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaws Ameen.
He was a strong and healthy man whom we all looked up to and loved dearly. Our grandfather had a huge affinity for the deen and supported many people in the studies of the Qur’an. He spent countless Ramadans reading Qur’an with his neighbours, friends, children, grandchildren and unfortunately this Ramadan he was unable to do so.
One of our grandfathers’ lifelong dreams was to build a mosque in the village settlement he grew up in Somaliland which lacked such religious facilities. Unfortunately, he passed away before this dream could become a reality. We, his grandchildren, have decided to try and make this dream a reality and raise funds to build this mosque in his memory and make his dream a reality.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (continuing charity), knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him” [Muslim]
A great reward for building a mosque is being granted a palace in Jannah. Allah (SWT), our benevolent creator, will reward us for building His house of worship here on earth by building us a house in paradise! Building a mosque helps us spread our deen in this world and brings not only ourselves closer to Allah (SWT) but everyone who enters the mosque as well.
InshaaAllah, we hope to build a masjid which will enable these people to have a place of worship where they can have congressional worship and access islamic education
Please join us this ramadan and donate to this cause
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, “Whoever relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever helps ease one in difficulty, Allah will make it easy for him in this world and in the Hereafter.” [Muslim]
