Story
In September 2022, I learned that I had a high-grade brain tumour that is terminal cancer and, regrettably, incurable.
I have undergone surgery, a cycle of radiotherapy and chemotherapy happening at the moment with more surgery on the cards. However, I want to stress that I remain happy, optimistic, and positive.
People who have a brain tumour typically lack confidence since their prognosis is poor. I try to dispel this and give it my all. My ambitions are to raise awareness of brain tumours, increase the data that is available because it is currently insufficient, and help contribute to a social shift that makes people more aware of brain tumours. Albeit my diagnosis being poor, I don't want to let cancer define me, and I will try my utmost to battle it and be like the old me as possible.
For children and adults under 40, brain tumours are the leading cause of death from cancer. The highest of any cancer, brain tumours reduce life expectancy by an average of 27 years, and only 12% of adults continue to live five years after being diagnosed.
Throughout the next two years, I will be undertaking several challenges that raise money on behalf of Guy's Cancer Centre & Macmillan, these range from; Battersea 5k, ASICS 10k, Richmond 10k, Vitality 10k, RBC Royal Parks Half Marathon, a Marathon Row, London Landmarks Half Marathon, London Marathon, Prague Marathon, Stockholm Marathon, Oslo Marathon, Budapest Marathon, New York Marathon, and Kilimanjaro to name a few.
The aim is to raise £15,000 for the two charities listed above as they have been very supportive.
Thank you for any donations and generosity.
About the two charities;
The Cancer Centre at Guy's is a place for cancer treatment and outpatients, treating many different cancer types, offering Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy, drug biological target therapies, surgery, transplants, as well as supportive care through the Dimbleby Cancer Care drop-in information and support centre.
Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest British charities and provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer. It also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care.

21 days agoDelighted to get a time of 3:28 in the London Marathon. I spent a year - sandwiched between treatment - of training, this range can be warm weather and cold training runs, sometimes in snow. It wasn't until February of this year that I had zero interruptions in my training. Sometimes you need to sacrifice the social side or the training but I try to find a balance that works. Determination, mental toughness, and perseverance allowed me to achieve the seemingly unattainable.

3 months agoThis week marks the start of the second part of my challenges. Although training takes up a lot of my time, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to everyone for their contributions so far. They truly mean a lot, especially in times of difficulty. I make an effort not to let my diagnosis limit or interfere with my activities. I make every effort to support other patients and demonstrate to them that goals can still be accomplished despite a diagnosis. Remember don't let it define who you are.
