Everesting Roseberry Topping!
With an unprecedented school year drawing to a close, Peter and I wanted to set ourselves a challenge and raise money to give back to those children who need it the most.
On July 2nd 2021, we will embark on a monumental mission to conquer Mount Everest right here in Teesside. To equal the dizzying heights of the summit, we will be climbing Roseberry Topping a whopping 29 times in less than 24 hours.
Alarmingly, the North East has the second highest rate of child poverty in the UK at 37%; this is equivalent to 11 children in a classroom of 30. As teachers, this is something that really hits home every single day. We have chosen the charity 'Cash for Kids', so every penny that we raise stays local, therefore you can be sure that your support will directly benefit children living in our region.
Donations of any size can be life changing.
Fancy a challenge yourself? Join us for 1 of the 29 legs of the journey and be part of something amazing. Tea, coffee or biscuits would be much appreciated!
Start Time: Friday 2nd July at 7:00pm.
Estimated finishing time: Saturday 3rd June, post 3:00pm.
Cash for Kids Information:
Metro Radio Cash for Kids is a grant-giving charity that offers a helping hand to those who need it most, making a difference to young people across the North East. We support children from birth up to and including 18 years old who are vulnerable, come from disadvantaged backgrounds or are living with an illness or disability. We also provide grants to many other charities, organisations and community groups, funding much-needed services and life-saving equipment across our area.
