Campaign title: Matila’s Christmas Hamper Appeal – Bringing Kindness to the Local Community

This Christmas, Matila Services Ltd is raising funds to provide Christmas hampers for older and vulnerable people across Saddleworth, particularly those living alone or with limited support.

We want to help people feel remembered, valued and included during the festive season.

A family tradition we hope to carry forward:

The idea comes from our director’s childhood, when his dad worked at his school and organised a Christmas hamper appeal each year. Pupils would bring in donations, which were packed into hampers and delivered to people in the local community.

That memory has stayed with Ross, and this year we hope to continue that tradition through Matila, bringing our staff, clients and suppliers together to give something back.

Our aim:

Our initial goal is to prepare and deliver a number of Christmas hampers, with the opportunity to reach more people if we receive enough donations and support.

Funds raised will help us purchase food, festive treats and thoughtful gifts for the hampers, alongside items donated through our collection points. Matila Services Ltd will provide the boxes, Christmas cards and the team’s time to prepare and deliver them.

We’ll work with local organisations to help identify people who would benefit from a hamper and welcome a visit.

Making time for company:

We want to give each delivery the time it deserves. Where recipients would welcome it, our team will stay for a friendly chat, offering company as well as a Christmas gift.

For someone spending much of their time alone, a visit and a conversation could mean just as much as the hamper itself.
