Story
My school trip to Tanzania
During the summer of 2019 I will, with a group of my school friends and teachers, be catching a flight to Arusha in Tanzania. We will be staying there in various places for 3 weeks.
We will help build and renovate a local school in the Arusha hills.
We will meet members of the Maasai tribe who will guide us around the hills and mountains.
After the hard work is complete, we travel to Bagamoyo which is a historical colonial era town on the coast. We will learn about its past. We will then travel to Zanzibar via boat where we will be diving in the Indian Ocean under supervision and training to graduate a recognized PADI diving course
One main objective of the trip is to provide support/charity to the less fortunate, but of course; my school, Outlook Expeditions, me and my friends really want to make the most of Africa so there are clearly a lot of other amazing experiences in there.
I will be expected to pay for as much of the cost as possible; this includes flights, transport, PADI diving fees, insurance and spending money. To do this I am fundraising in as many ways as possible which leads to the reason for this piece of writing.
My fundraising has already begun, I am taking part in the Great Midlands Fun Run (8.5 miles) on the 3rd of June this year and I am representing a local business, Cerda on the run wearing a t-shirt, giving them publicity.
I still have a lot of money to raise and it would be great if anyone can sponsor me for the Great Midlands Fun Run or donate to the trip.
Also if anyone has any other ideas on fundraising I can do I would be interested to hear them. I really would appreciate any help, however small with my fundraising.
Thank you,
Matt Farrington.
