One of our friends recently had a health scare after having a heart attack while playing football, thanks to the fast actions of a member of the RNLI and Devon Air Ambulance, we are glad that Steve is well on the road to recovery.

The purpose of this page and the event outlined below is to try and generate some money for these charities, so if you can spare any cash it'd be greatly appreciated by all.

We play football on Monday and Thursday nights and also Man V Fat on a Friday Collectively we thought it would be a good idea to set up mini weekend Tournament, and if we can raise some money for charity it'd be exactly what football in the community is all about. Having fun, laughs, making friends, and getting a spot of exercise in too.

At the moment we have around 40 people interested and we will split up into teams of around 6-8 a side (depending on numbers), playing short games in a round robin format.

We really want it to be a great family event and therefore we would welcome any family or friends coming along to the event too. All money raised will be donated to these two charities:

* RNLI Teignmouth – One particular member was first to provide valuable CPR for Steve Palmer to help ensure he is still very much with us today!

* Air Ambulance – Also on the scene to provide critical care and speedy transfer to hospital.

We will also be providing a paella lunch (‘chicken’, ‘chicken & chorizo’ & ‘Vegetarian') with soft drinks and hot drinks!

The registration cost will be £10 for each player which already includes the paella and a drink for after the game. Family members can also buy paella for £5 each and this includes a drink. Buen Apetito are only asking for a £2 contribution towards the paella/drink cost, so the rest is profit for the charities!

A range of cakes and sweet treats will also be on sale with all profits going to charity.

The local newspaper will be present to write up on the performances, so dust off your boots and get ready to hit the headlines.

Finally Steve and his family will be presenting a range of trophies such as winning team, best player, to golden boot, and best team attitude.
