Story
I am taking part in the Hardmoors 30 New Years Day race.
The facilities at our football and cricket club have not been touched for years. We are aiming to get to a certain total to secure further external funding towards the improvements at Carr Lane. I coach the Junior U9s football team and currently have to play away from home in the wet weather as the facilities cannot cope. This costs money and the more we spend training and playing elsewhere, the less our club can grow.
I aim to split what ever money raised 50/50 with Martin House Children's Hospice.
I appreciate that asking for donations to improve facilities at a club you maybe have no connection with is a difficult ask but I hope that you can give generously if nothing else but to improve the quality of young peoples lives in Martin House. Martin House is a children’s hospice which provides care and support to families who have a child or young person who has a shortened life expectancy and is not expected to live into adulthood.
Thank you for reading and thank you for whatever donation you can give.

6 years agoWow! 2 months since my last post... training has been going really well and other than blisters on my feet not even a niggle (jinxed it now of course!) So... I’m in to the “final run in” a lot of miles to get in each week before starting to taper down to race day. I’m eating well, drinking less and feeling better than I have for a long time. Quick toy up at work and on this page and we’re up to £1315... thank you all so so much. I wonder what we can get to?? Thanks also to Mrs T and my kids for their patience with me (almost there!) xx
