Story
As most people who see this page will know, I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2012, and since that time, due to the illness itself, complications, and permanent side effects from chemotherapy, I've been unable to work.
Over the past few years we, as a family, haven't been able to afford to go anywhere on holiday, mainly because the cost and complications of going anywhere with a wheelchair are beyond our means. Both Amanda and Harriet have always dreamed of going to see Coldplay in concert, and so when I saw that a few tickets were still available for their concert in Cardiff next on July 12th 2017 (my birthday!), I just clicked the button and got tickets for the two of them.
At the moment, we can't really afford for them to get train tickets, pay for a hotel, and actually pay for the tickets themselves. I know that, somehow, by next July we will be able to find money somewhere to do this, but something led me to decide to set up this page to see what happened.
As a rough guide:
Tickets were £346 including exorbitant booking fee (cheapest seats all sold out)
Hotel was £359 - pretty much everything was already booked :(
Trainline.com estimates rail tickets at £370 (even with a 16-25 railcard :O )
Total of £1,075
I've never done anything like this before, and if it stays at £0, then that tells me that I shouldn't have done it this time!
If anybody does contribute, then you have my sincere and heartfelt thanks for your generosity. Amanda and Harriet don't know that I'm doing this Crowdfunding attempt, as I wouldn't want to dull their excitement about the actual trip.
