I've raised £300 to help fund the cost of resources needed to help a local 'share shop' based in Frome, Somerset become financially sustainable!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am fundraising toward the costs of resources needed in order to help a local community-based 'share shop', named "SHARE - A Library of Things", become financially sustainable. The shop is based in Frome, Somerset: https://sharefrome.org/, and the intentional project for making it financially self-sustained has been set by a local school for community enterprise (also based in Frome), known as "Edventure": http://edventurefrome.org/
In their own words, "SHARE – A Library Of Things is a place for people to borrow objects, share skills and connect with others, in a welcoming and fun environment".
We feel that in today's "throw-away society", there is too much energy being spent on "stuff". Many things are used for a short space of time and then either stored in a shed, kitchen or garage, or simply thrown away (and usually buried in a landfill). Obviously the long term effect of this on a mass, international scale has dire consequences for both our environment AND our personal economies. I also personally feel that it negatively impacts our relationship with our local communities, and in ways that, for the most part, we are not aware of.
"SHARE - A Library of Things" is just one of many small but powerful solutions to the "throw-away" mentality of today's society. Items such as tools, lawnmowers and fishing nets (to name just a few) are donated by people in the local community who no longer need them. The items are then available for others to borrow for up to 7 days for a small donation. Additionally, there are also higher value items available to purchase from the shop, and for very reasonable prices. Through this simple process of community sharing, unnecessary waste is reduced, both domestically and environmentally, and people save the money they would have otherwise spent on purchasing items that either a) have a short "lifespan", or b) are only used occassionally/rarely.
As part of a team of other individuals on the 10 week 'Start-Up' course running at Edventure from September 4th, we will be embarking on a mission to financially empower 'SHARE' as a local business that has its roots set in truly serving the needs of the local community.
By donating to this cause, you will not only be helping to empower and strengthen a "grassroots movement" local business (originally setup by Edventure students), but you will be helping to financially secure its place in the local community of Frome in the long run. This is our vision and main aim for this project, and I hope that you can support us in bringing it to its fruition...
