I've raised £1000 to Raise money for Luna-Rose Prisoner support

I first heard about the work Heather was doing whilst in Bangkok. I initially thought the Lunar-Rose prisoner support would be a large charity with a network of workers and fundraisers, but it is just Heather.
For the last 11 years she has given up most of her time, energy and her own money to live most of the year in Thailand to support prisoners incarcerated in Bangkok's prison system. When she isn't in Thailand she flies back home to Canada so she can work to finance her next trip.
A lot of these prisoners are serving huge sentences. The justice system in Thailand is very different to our own and possession of just a very small amount of narcotics could see you incarcerated for 25 - 50 years or even given the death penalty.
From the Luna-Rose Prisoner website;
'In addition to support visits, I brought food, toiletries, antibiotics, writing supplies, art supplies, clothes, books, until this was no longer allowed. Now, my psychosocial support includes facilitating human connection and counselling the inmates, passing messages to families, arranging pen-pals, and lobbying their Embassies for medical attention and minimal attention.
In the appalling conditions which do not meet minimum internationally agreed upon standards of treatment, space, sanitation, nutrition or medical care, inmates experience brutality, physical and mental ailments and acute emotional distress. They are disconnected from home country, family support, and friends and experience overwhelming loneliness and suffering. Luna-Rose Prisoner Support offers human connection, psychosocial and emotional support, providing a critical life-line and re-connecting these forgotten people to the web of humanity.'
I have seen first hand how Heather's efforts in Bangkok help these men. If this total can be raised it will bring a huge amount of financial support for Heather's Herculean efforts and also help to raise awareness of her work.
