Story

Please help Sophie get some independence and enjoy the outdoors with her family again.

Two years ago, Sophie suffered a devastating stroke which has left her partially paralysed and unable to walk. When it first happened, she was unable to move, see or speak but very slowly, and with a lot of determination, she has gained some movement again, and can now see and speak. However, she still cannot walk and is completely reliant on a wheelchair to get around.

Sophie has two small children: Rosie (5) and Henry (3), and is desperate to do as much as she can with them. Before her stroke, she loved the outdoors, and was always out with the kids, her horse and their dog in the Gloucestershire countryside.

Although the NHS has given her an electric wheelchair for indoor use, she currently only has a manual wheelchair for when she is outdoors, meaning she has to rely on others to push her, as she doesn't have enough mobility to push herself. Having an outdoors, all-terrain electric wheelchair would enable her to go out and about on her own terms and be more involved in the kids' lives.

The electric wheelchair costs over £20,000, and people have already been so generous - we're beyond grateful to you all.

We're getting closer, so if you can give even a small amount, it would help finally be able to give Sophie the independence outdoors that she misses so much.
