Story

Hi and thank you for donating!!

Myself and Dominic Wilson, assisted by Daniel Pearce are all firefighters for Nottinghamshire fire and rescue service at Misterton and will be taking on the 24 hour Three peaks Challenge on the weekend of 4th/5th July 2026. We will be doing this huge challenge on behalf of two charities, one being The Firefighters Charity who help firefighters through both mental and physical issues and Aurora Wellbeing based in Worksop who are a local charity providing free cancer support to anyone affected by cancer including my wife Annie Hunt who is battling breast cancer and undergoing chemotherapy right now. Doing this challenge and raising some money is a way for me to say thank you.

Testimony from Dom.

My mum was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1991 at the age of 40, when she had a section of her breast removed and underwent a course of radiotherapy.

7 years later she found a lump in the other breast. Tests confirmed it was cancer but this time a much more aggressive form. She underwent 6 months of chemotherapy followed by a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.

A further 6 years passed with no problems, but then she found a lump under her arm which was confirmed as cancer and required further surgery.

She's now 74 years old and has been cancer free for over 20 years.
