Demi was a happy healthy little 3 year old girl who had started nursery in October. On January 25th 2016 a lump appeared on Demis hand following complaints she had made about a pain under her arm which doctors had put down to just a strain. Demi had scans and biopsies on her hand and under her arm which confirmed that Demi has a rare form of cancer known as alveolar rhabdomyasarcoma. Following this diagnosis Demi started sessions of intensive chemotherapy which led to her getting a lot of infections and needing blood and platelet transfusions. When the original scans came back it was found that the tumour under Demis arm was bigger than her heart, but thankfully the lymph nodes under her arm prevented the cancer from spreading further into her body. On 7th June Demi had to travel to Birmingham children's hospital where she had her left arm and forequarter amputated in order to raise her prognosis from 40% to 55%. Demi has coped really well with the amputation and is finding new ways to cope and learn to do things everyday. She is always happy and never ceases to amaze us with the way she is managing to deal with everything and get on with things with a constant smile on her face.

We will be completing a 200ft bungee jump to raise money for this young girl to life as normal life as possible.
