Story
On Friday 19th December 2025, I’ll be taking on an annual challenge -juggling a football for 12 miles, from the Amex Stadium all the way to Sussex FA HQ in Lancing. I’ll be joined and supported once again by Tim Herbert, whose encouragement got me through last year’s effort.
To give you an idea of what this involves… last year it took me almost four hours to complete 6.2 miles, juggling the ball around 14,000 times. This year, I’m aiming to double the distance and push myself even further — all for causes that mean a great deal to me and my family.
I’m hoping to raise £1,750, which will be split as follows:
• £750 to Martlets, supporting their incredible work with individuals and families affected by cancer. A couple of close friends have sadly been lost to this awful illness, and I want to do whatever I can so that fewer people have to go through it.
• £1,000 split three ways between the grassroots communities that have shaped so much of our lives:
– Sussex Schools FA, where I coach the U14s, helping to fund Finals Day on June 6th so every district gets the day they deserve.
– Mile Oak FC, where I’m part of the Vets and coach the U14s, and where Rhys has played for seven years.
– Southwick FC, where I manage the brilliant U12s and Owen has proudly played for the last three years.
