Story
Hi, a year ago my wife Helen & I were living the dream, happily married with an amazing 2 year old son & Helen pregnant with our second child.
Then after having a cough for several weeks, Helen was cruelly diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer with not the greatest prognosis. Having never smoked & lived a pretty healthy lifestyle you can imagine how much of a shock & how devastating this news was. Especially as we had to say goodbye to our unborngel at 17 weeks.
Helen underwent 4 cycles of chemo which made her very ill and lose lots of weight, which she still struggles with now. Helen has spent over a year researching alternative treatments and applying these. Which have helped her immensley. These treatments cost a lot of money, and on average we spend about £350 per week. This includes organic foods, tonnes of supplements, emotional therapies, homeopathy etc. The list is endless.
We are trying to raise as much money possible for 'helen's fund' to go towards paying for further treatments both in the UK & possibly abroad, should scans not show what we are praying for. We know she is going in the right direction it's just so expensive to maintain.
So myself and 2 not so fit friends have decided to do x runner. It's a 10k run (which we would find pretty difficult anyway) but added to the mix is a variety of obstacles in masses of mud which should be fun!
So that's basically our story, if you could find it in your hearts to donate something, no matter how big or small it would be greatly appreciated.
On behalf of myself my two friends Matt & Neil & my wife Helen thankyou.
