Story
Caring, Compassion & Empathy
In 2007 I reached my childhood dream of visiting Africa where I was greeted by the amazing people of Africa with open arms and wide smiles, I decided when I returned home that one day I would return once more, not as a tourist but as a caring individual who wanted in some small way, give something back to the people for allowing me to enjoy their country with such simplicity.
During my visit it was clear to see that the people of Africa had very little in the way of possessions but had in abundance care for each other, sadly as I am sure you are all aware, the health care provision is very limited.
As a healthcare worker myself here in the UK, I am very aware of how amazingly lucky we are to have amazing health care provision provided the NHS.
I decided that I wanted to do something to help the people of Africa using the skills that I have learnt over the years by volunteering in a healthcare project in Kenya, many people have to walk for miles over several days to reach the centre , I have set this page up in the hope that I can raise some funding towards my place, should I raise more than required, I will ensure any extra will go straight into the healthcare project
Information about the project can be found on the "camps international" website
