Poverty is a tremendous problem in India today as 276 million people live below $1.25 a day. This Poverty has resulted in a severe lack of education for children in India; 1 in 5 children between the ages of six and fourteen have never gone to school. The lack of education that children receive is one of the primary reasons why so many will live the rest of their lives in poverty.

This summer I will be travelling to India, as part of a team, to teach children in three schools in Dehradun and in The Himalayas. We will be teaching children of all ages from a wide range of diverse communities to try and give them some of the skills that they can use to transform their lives.
