Story

Hi, I’m Matthew Brough and I’ve been selected to represent GB at this years Special Olympics World Games in Berlin in June this year.

I‘m so excited and really proud to be representing my country and wanted to do something to help raise funds for ‘City of York Special Olympics’ and the ‘York Disability Tennis Network’. The Special Olympics is a non-profit organisation providing national and international sporting competitions for children and adults with learning disabilities.

David Lloyd, Hull Road, York have been fantastic in providing me with an indoor court on Saturday 18th March to carry out a 12 hour tennis marathon from 8:30am to 8:30pm and it would be amazing if you could sponsor me.

David Lloyd, York is also allowing members and non-menbers to sign-up to hit with me at half-hour intervals throughout the day, so if you want to have a hit with a GB Special Olympian, please contact David Lloyd reception on 01904 751500 to book a slot….the more the merrier. Huge thanks to @davidlloydyork for helping me with my marathon.

Emily Clarke from YDTN has also been selected to the GB tennis squad, so to have 2 players from YDTN selected is amazing. Emily will also be attending during the day in the afternoon to help play some doubles with me 🎾🎾
