Story

Our little brave sdier! We have set up this page as we would like to raise some funds for our 3 year old boy, called Matthew James Chapman. Matthew unfortunately can no longer do anything for himself as he unfortunately suffered neorological regression from the very young age of 15 months old. He was developing fine until this point, as he was starting to pull himself up, saying a few words, crawling, and even taking a few steps, until our world simply fell apart. To this day, medical teams class matthew as a medical mystery and they have warned us that they may never find out what happened. Tests have detected a smaller cerrebellum and pons in his brain but they do not know why or how this happened. At the moment they have exhausted all tests on the NHS, and matthew as well as myself and colin have been enrolled onto the 100,000 genomes project of which we should have the first set of results early 2018. Matthew attends St Francis special school in Lincoln, of which are truly amazing and such a help to Matthew and us as a family. We dont have a diagnosis for Matthew, and we are not sure if he will plateau, get any better or slowly regress further. He is such a super star. But as he needs various equipment which unfortuntealy has many 0's attached, we wish to raise funds for any equipment which will help enrich his life. Matthew now has lots of challenges in his life as he is unable to move independently, it is like he is trapped in a body which can no longer do what he wants it to, but his personality is still very much intact and we hope to god that he can still enjoy the simple things in life. Life can be so cruel, and i suppose, as parents we are still grieving as he has suffered such loss, but we must battle on everyday and make sure he has as much as we can give him. Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Much love, the Chapmans xxxx
