I like many of my friends and colleagues have spent the weekend trying to comprehend the senseless killing of Matt.

To compound the horrific events Matt’s Partner and his son will receive no immediate financial aid from the authorities, or the Police Pension Scheme.

A giant of a man, with a character to match. A man who gave so much back to the community he served. For many of us our interaction with him was tangential, yet so impactive, so we can only imagine how devastated his close friends and family can be, at this awful time.

I believe that in these dark days the last thing his loved ones should be worrying about is money. Every penny raised will go directly to Matt’s Partner, and his son, whilst it will never bring him back, I hope it alleviates some of the day to day worries we all have, and allows them to grieve and try to come to terms with their loss.

Please give what you can, no amount is too small, no amount too big.

I am a former colleague of Matt, a retired officer, and charity trustee. No other person or organisation will profit from donations. All proceeds will go equally to Matt’s partner and his Son.
