    Story

I'm swimming the English Channel to raise money for Garston Manor School.

My son, Dylan is autistic, this has lead to many challenges through the years.

One of the biggest reasons we have seen such development in Dylan over the years is the support his schools have provided. Garston Manor provides incredible support to the children and in turn that helps the parents in more ways than can be explained.

Garston Manor School is a Specialist School for Autism, Learning Difficulties and Speech and Language. It serves students aged 11 - 16 with Learning Difficulties, Autism, Speech, Language and Communication Needs.

I am aiming to fund sensory packs for all 14 classes.

Charity Number - 293081 (Garston Manor PTA)

Most of my training is now complete. So far I have racked up my first ever 6 hour swim, | followed by another 6hr swim, and a 4hr the next day this was followed by another 6hr & 4 hr just 4 days later. This was to rapidly build my ability to recover from the long swims. I then managed to do a 8 hour training swim, and then last weekend a 7hr & 6hr challenge. Now I'm tapering and starting to keep an eye on the weather. I'm booked to go between the 26th Aug & 1st Sept

After deciding to swim the channel in 2021/22. 2020 would be a great year for training and getting ready. Then corona arrived. I was realised it would be 2022 after all. Till on the 23rd of June, my pilot suggested I could go this year if I could train in 2 months.
