Story

The Maud fire fighters public access defibrillator (PAD) fund.

Following on from the successful fundraising & installation of PAD's in New Deer, Maud & Fetterangus. An agreement has been reached with the New Pitsligo Community Council meaning that fundraising for New Pitsligo's PAD can now begin!

What's a defibrillator?

• A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart through the chest wall to someone who is in cardiac arrest.

• This is called defibrillation, and it's an essential lifesaving step in the chain of survival.

Why place a defibrillator in the community?

• Cardiac arrest can happen to anyone.

• Survival rates fall by 10% every minute with out action.

• Using a defibrillator within 3 minutes can give up to a 70% chance of survival.

Once the PAD is in place we will be providing input on how to carry out effective CPR as well as defibrillator awareness to anyone in the community.

For what you can give thank you for giving.
