I've raised £700 to help buy resources needed for activity programme for the Hope Tree project for children and families.

We are aware of the societal pressures on family life and the time constraint on families to spend quality time together. Very Often it is vulnerable children who lose out the most on this essential interaction which in turns can lead to social and emotional difficulties in them. Our activity day programmes are organised around this premise of support. Children and their parents come together to play together engaging in arts and craft activities such as card making. This is sometimes built around a theme such as Love, the importance of family, Easter, Mother’s Day and so on. There is also traditional games and cooking together.
The positive impact of parents and children engaging in this way and hopefully continuing this at home is that it will result in better communication between families and in turn create a healthier family life. Parents have commented on the therapeutic impact for them in having time to relax with their children. Parents have also commented on the need for more of these sessions during the holidays and their willingness to get more involved with the project. We believe that these activity days have geninuenly contributed to increase self esteem for both parents and their children
