On the 17th June there was a serious incident during a football game at the Euro 2020 Championships. A player for Denmark, 29 years young and at the top of his game in peak fitness suffered a cardiac arrest. Within minutes medics were by his side conducting CPR, after initial attempts to restart his heart they then resulted in using a defibrillator. Thankfully after one shock his heart restarted, and he is now well and with his family.

A Defibrillator is an Automatic External Defibrillator designed to shock the heart back to life if a Casualty is in Cardiac Arrest.

The example above is a minute fraction of the cardiac arrests that happen on a daily basis in schools, sports facilities, the workplace and many more.
