Story
We are a small dog rescue centre based here in the UK and for the past 5 years we have taken in and saved the dogs that no one seems to want including dogs that literally have hours left in a kill centre, like Foxi.
Foxi like many of the puppies we save, was just 5 months old and aside from being malnourished, was a healthy puppy that did not deserver to be inhumanely euthanised.
Or like little Dom, Dom spent 3 months in a veterinary clinic here in the UK whilst his owner was sick in hospital, but when it became apparent his owner was not going to pull through, the vets sought a better solution. Dom was an old dog and the RSPCA advised he should be put to sleep and refused to take him on, but when we were asked, we said yes and without hesitation. We took Dom in to our shelter and later found Dom a fantastic home with a retired couple and he went on to live a happy life with his new owners enjoying a perfect life.
Then there's Lady who faced being put to sleep for having Leish and needing an urgent blood transfusion. We stepped in and helped. That was 3 years ago. Lady required 2 weeks of intensive veterinary care and emergency treatment at Mandeville Pet Hospital in London before spending a further 3 months in our care. Lady continues to enjoy life and gives her elderly blind and deaf owner some much needed company and happiness.
These are just 3 stories of the dogs we have helped. Since 2016, we have stepped in and helped hundreds of dogs. Many of which come to us just skin and bone, terrified from being beaten or simply abandoned.
All this work costs money, all of here us at MGT are 100% volunteers and all the money we have donated pays to save another dogs life. We need money for vets fees, medication, kill centre release fees, food, vaccinations and that's before we get on the facilities to house the dogs.
We now need help financially. Plus, we now ready to become a registered charity. The rules of the charity commission state we have to raise £5000+ in one month, we tried a couple of years ago but failed to raise the money. This has not put us off or stopped us from continuing to work hard and save more dogs. Up till now most of the money we have comes from our own personal finances but it isn't enough.
So now we are really asking for your help. Help us to help more dogs like Foxi, Lady and Dom. Help us reach our target of £8910 that we need desperately for vets fees, vaccinations, kill centre release fees and castrations and if you cannot donate, help us by sharing our story with your friends and family on social media. The more awareness we have, the more we can rehome abandoned pets.
