Story

Maya Fu first entered a local Brazilian Jiu-jitsu gym at the age of 5 after being the victim of school bullying.
Maya's self esteem and confidence had been very sadly robbed of her at this very early stage in life and the effects of the bullying had clearly taken their toll. Maya could no longer make eye contact when speaking and would often cling to a family member in the presence of strangers.

Thankfully for Maya, the Bullyproof program taught at Next Generation Wirral gym, successfully turned things around gradually and progressively until something quite amazing happened.

Maya not only regained her confidence, now she wanted to compete against others.

3 years after joining the gym, Maya has amassed the following National and European accolades:

2016 Bjj Junior National Championships (Gold)
2016 Bjj Junior European Championships (Double Gold)
2017 Bjj Junior National Championships (Silver)
2017 Bjj Junior European Championships (Gold)
2018 Bjj Junior National Championships (Gold)

During this time she has also competed against opponents from higher weight divisions, higher grades and against her male counterparts with considerable success.

The World Championships stage is the next natural progression for Maya. In order to give her the best fighting chance, we'd really appreciate it if you would like to support her goals by assisting with additional training, equipment and expenses etc. Any companies wishing to sponsor Maya would have their company logo prodly displayed on any apparel worn during competion, training and any social media promotional opportunities.

Thank you for your
generosity and joining Maya on this incredible journey!
