As Mayor of Stevenage, my theme is “Growing together: Building a kinder tomorrow”.

To bring this vision to life, I’ve chosen two incredible local charities this year: Young Carers Crew and Rotary Club of Stevenage Grange. Both my chosen charities embody the values of care, community and kindness that we need to build a brighter future for everyone.

Young Carers Crew

Young Carers Crew supports children and young people who care for a family member with a disability, illness or additional needs. These young carers take on immense responsibility, often without recognition. YCC gives them a safe space to be themselves, to be heard, and to just be kids again. Supporting them is a vital step in creating a kinder, more inclusive tomorrow.

Rotary Club of Stevenage Grange

Rotary Club of Stevenage Grange is a volunteer-led organisation delivering practical help across our town. From community clean-ups and local events to supporting food banks, schools, and mental health initiatives, they are proof that small acts of kindness, multiplied across a community, can create lasting change.

Stevenage Postbox Knitters are delighted to support the Mayor's Charities again this year.

Every Christmas, since 2020, many different people have joined in the fun making fluffy snowmen, Christmas trees and lots more beside to decorate some of the postboxes across our town.

The knitters (and those who crochet too!) are delighted that people enjoy seeing the toppers and so invite donations to the different charities as chosen by the Stevenage Mayor each year.
