I've raised £2000 to carry out environmental work on the River Chess in Chesham

As Mayor of Chesham I am walking the 10-mile Chess Valley River Walk on Sunday 12th May to raise money to carry out regeneration work to the River Chess, our incredibly rare natural chalk stream. It is a vital resource and an incredible natural habitat that is threatened by development, high levels of water consumption, environmental changes, pollution, pressures on the chalk aquifer that feeds it and its most dangerous predator: humans. We need to actively repair it and ensure its survival for future generations to enjoy. Chesham's Impress The Chess group includes volunteers from the River Chess Association, Chesham Environmental Group, the Chiltern Society, and local residents. Our Action Plan identifies key locations along the River and projects that will improve it, and every penny raised will buy the materials we need to deliver the Plan for the River and the Town.
