Story
The theme for my charities, for the year will be faith, community health and well-being and young people. Enfield is home to people of all faiths and backgrounds, and it is through our shared values of compassion, understanding, service and unity that we can create a stronger borough Community is not just about where we live; it’s about how we support, uplift and empower each other through healthy living, well-being in accessing services for cultural need and activities, unlocking the potential of young people and providing opportunities, is all of our responsibility to give them the tools they need to succeed, highlighting initiatives like NEXUS and other youth provisions in Enfield will be an absolute pleasure for me.
By promoting unity and shared values among our diverse community in Enfield – we will build a stronger, fairer Enfield filled with opportunity for all. I am hoping to gain as much support as possible during my Mayoral year, through my charity work, although I realise that my main priority will be to raise awareness and act as an ambassador to make a positive impact where I can. I am hoping to work closely with three incredible organisations as my chosen charities this year:
• Royal Free Charity North Mid Red Cell Services fund – charitable fund supporting Red Cell services at North Middlesex University Hospital
• Enfield Black Heritage Hub – a community-based group in Edmonton – having raised the profile and igniting hard to engage communities across the borough, I look forward to further collaboration with them.
• And Enfield based MacMillan Cancer Support – a charity close to my heart and the incredible Enfield fundraising volunteers.
I hope you will support and donate to my chosen charities and organisations and attend my events that I intend to host over the next 12 months. I would also invite you to join my fund-raising committee, all volunteers are welcome.
