Story
In April, myself & 3 friends will be taking on a slightly ridiculous challenge: travelling nearly 2,000 miles across Europe to visit all three of Erewash’s twin towns:
Langen
Romorantin-Lanthenay
Châlons-en-Champagne
And I’ll be doing in in a 1992 Reliant Robin.
Why?
This isn’t just a road trip it’s a fundraiser to support two brilliant local causes that make a real difference in our community:
Erewash Sound: our local community radio station, giving a platform to local voices, organisations, and events.
1st Sawley Scout Group - New Scout Hut Build: helping provide a modern, safe space for young people to learn skills, build confidence, and thrive.
Both organisations are rooted in the community and are reliant on support to continue their work.
The Challenge
Nearly 2,000 miles across the UK, France, Belgium, and Germany
Visiting all three twin towns of Erewash
Taking on motorways, country roads… and possibly the Nürburgring 👀
All in a Reliant Robin what could possibly go wrong?
We’ll also be stopping at Ypres to pay our respects and lay a wreath at the Menin Gate, remembering those who gave their lives.
Why Your Support Matters
Every donation, big or small, will go directly towards supporting these two fantastic local causes.
If this challenge makes you smile or laugh, please consider donating.
Thank You
Your support genuinely means a lot, not just to us, but to the people and organisations this will help.
Let’s turn a slightly ridiculous idea into something that makes a real difference.
