    Story

2 summers ago myself and a team of 18 others went on a ‘World Challenge’ to Swaziland. While we were there we volunteered in a Neighbourhood Care Point in the area of Nkhanini, which provides day care for children orphaned through HIV and AIDs. Mbali is an amazing and inspirational woman. She is from Swaziland and previously volunteered at the care point as a teacher. In Swaziland if you are not university educated it is hard to find a paid professional job, therefore Mbali was a volunteer at the NCP. She struggled in supporting herself and her young family and when I asked her how she lived, she responded ‘I just live off gods gift.’ I found this heart breaking and was so touched by her outlook on life that I started to financially support her and her family on my return. This summer I went back to volunteer along side her for 2 months and decided it would have more of a lasting impact for her to go to university and qualify as a teacher therefore allowing her to get paid a professional salary for the work she is already doing. She started university in August and has just completed her first term having passed her exams with flying colours. The teaching degree out there is a 3 year course and costs the equivalent of £2364 per year (a lot less than in the UK.) I have funded half of Mbali’s first year already and will try my hardest to continue supporting her through the course, but as a university student myself this is hard. I am therefore, looking for a bit of help in continuing to support her. I believe that in supporting Mbali she will make a huge difference to herself, her family and those around her. Making a difference to the education of Swaziland as a whole. If you are able to donate anything please do as everything helps. Thank you :)
