Hello everyone

In September I will be travelling to Patras in Greece to volunteer for 3 months helping refugees as part of the FoodKIND charity. There are a number of refugee camps surrounding Patras but it can be hard to get into these, leading to a large number of migrants having to sleep in abandoned warehouses and factories, facing poor living conditions and beatings from the police. Most of the refugees are from Syria and as the war continues there are more arriving everyday, many of them young unaccompanied minors. FoodKIND helps by providing 2 meals per day to the refugees living on the streets and in the abandoned factories. Without money to pay for food this is an essential service, and also provides compassion and human contact to people who have been through a lot of hardship.

For my stay I need to raise funds to cover accommodation and food costs, with any extra being donated to the FoodKIND organisation. For this I will be walking the West Highland Way. It usually takes around 7 days but I will be attempting to do it in 5 (brick). I would appreciate if you all had a look at the FoodKIND website and consider giving me a donation, any amount welcome.
