Story

2020 has been an incredible year for a lot of the wrong reasons and this year has taught me a valuable lesson in that we need to look out for each other as much as we can. I have been saddened that because of understandable restrictions on social distancing and households mixing, a lot of Christmas day food services for the homeless that normally happen each year have been cancelled.

It is my belief that now more than ever, we need to stick together and support each other where we can. Christmas can be a tough time of year for a lot of people but more so for those who do not have the luxury of a permanent roof over their head.

Christmas is a time for sharing, for appreciating what you have and spending time with loved ones so, for Christmas 2020, my brother and I are launching a campaign to try to delivery essential supplies to as many of Manchester’s homeless population as possible.

It is our plan to take the money that we would normally spend in December on presents, decorations and entertainment and instead, use this money to buy essential thermal clothes, sleeping bags and other much needed supplies and distribute it to those most in need on Manchester’s streets on Christmas day.

Any help that you can offer would be gratefully received. To give a better understanding of how your donation can help, we are estimating the following:

£5 buys a pair of thermal gloves
£10 buys a waterproof sleeping bag cover
£25 buys a sleeping bag

Because of timescales, we would appreciate any donations before the end of November.
