In my mother's absence, her family and friends would like to set up an Award for young people to get the chance to realise their dreams of a future in the digital world. The aim is to encourage school children to investigate digital, the options it provides as a career choice and, most importantly, to empower them to think dynamically about the opportunities it brings to everyone’s lives.

These young minds are our next generation digital pioneers and the Award will help them to work towards creating some new and exciting digital related products, whether it be an app, game, website or technological solution. The options are endless.

Culminating in an annual competition, the most innovative teams will be able to pitch their ideas to big figures in the digital world, with the hope that there will be funds to help them realise their project, fund software for them to continue to learn and develop, or maybe even fund trips to see the digital world in action.

In addition, the Award will bring together a panel of successful, clever and hugely inspirational people to provide a mentoring programme that will run alongside the competition.

We hope to create this legacy for Nicky, enabling a future of driven, hard working and fun individuals to carry on her enthusiasm for all things digital.
