Story

Hi Everyone,

Reflecting on my own life and where I have come from, a remote village in Nepal (Amppipal, Gorkha) - which at the time had no electricity and tarmac roads with a lack of drinking water, I have decided to give something back to the less fortunate community in Mugu (small district in North-West Nepal).

I plan to volunteer with RAP (Rural Access Programme), which is a poverty alleviation programme, aided by the UK Department for International Development for 4 weeks. During this time, I will be based in Mugu and assisting local engineers and stakeholders in construction of tracks, trails and roads, along with scoping study of water harvesting from the RAP roads. This challenge will take me to some of the very remote areas where most people would not have seen the world outside of their own village. With my work, I aim to assist RAP on improving socio-economic demographic of Mugu, and eventually improve transport links and water harvesting in Nepal through local road networks.

The full potential of this opportunity can and will only be fulfilled with your support. Therefore, I am hoping to raise fund to ultimately support RAP to continue their amazing work in a place where many have neglected. Please donate to tackle the journey of reducing poverty together as the only way to change this world is to be the change we want to see in this world. The donation can be as little or as much as you wish, because everything will be of help.

Many Thanks,

Manoj Devkota
